THE PARISHIONERS OF IMMACULATE CONCEPTION PARISH
Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon

January 18, 2007

To: HIS EXCELLENCY RT. REV. HONESTO C. PACANA, D.D.
Bishop Ordinary
Diocese of Malaybalay
City of Malaybalay
Province of Bukidnon

PETITION LETTER

PAX CHRISTI!

WE, the undersigned and concerned parishioners of Immaculate Conception Parish, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, respectfully and humbly manifest our petition to Your Excellency to remove and transfer REV. FR. JUN BALANSAG, Assistant Parish Priest of our parish for the following reasons, to wit:

1. He has acted in a manner which causes grave harm or disturbance to the ecclesiastical communion of this parish through his lamentable and blatant partisan political activities in favor of politicians which many of the parishioners perceived to be closely related by affinity with his family;

2. He has abused the office of his ministry by using it to malign and slander the name of political personalities during election period while officiating the Holy Mass and other ecclesial services through homilies and exhortations;

3. He as donned the holy chasable and openly participated in a private dispute between parties over property rights thereby manifesting his gross bias and prejudices in a manner nor becoming of a man of the cloth;

4. He has lost his good name among upright and serious-minded parishioners causing aversion to his person which may cause scandal to the communion and dissuade the people from coming to church.

WHEREFORE, the above premises considered, we humbly pray that this matter be accorded with your most holy attention and prompt action.

THE TRUTH WILL SET US FREE.

It has come to the attention of the Catholic Community and family of parish members worldwide, that acts unsanctioned by the church should be announced and confronted in order to protect the very people that worship in the church.

After the displeasing behavior of Parish Priest Jun Balansag, yet another disgusting event is unfolding involving Fr. Mariano Chia who is engaged in the aiding and participation of kidnapping his own neice and nephew after a tragic incident involving their father. The widely known events indicated that the birth mother has repeatedly attempted to regain custody even through the high court of appeals, yet this FR seems to have his sights set personal agenda. This story will be carried as far as possible.

Well Fr Mariano Chia LOST his battle to keep the children who are now reunited with their Mother, yet he still harbors even their clothing and toys. Imagine?? A Catholic Priest that travels hours from Wao to Cagayan de Oro for court without even packing a bag for overnight for them with an extra pair of underwear. Then out of spite, after losing his embarassing court battle, refuses to turn over the childrens' clothing to their mother. He stared that she should buy new clothing herself!! Incredible. How does a priest become so disconnected with the very values that all us Catholics hold so dear? How does a Priest become so vicious and hurtful to children that he would steal their clothing?

This will NOT go unnoticed. It is the core of all Catholic belief despite circumstances, that we "cloth the needy."
